Our lessons are designed to give students a range of tools and techniques that help overcome the difficulties dyslexia often creates. Lessons follow a series of structured learning points but are delivered through activities and games that are engaging and enjoyable.
During lessons students are regularly reminded of the many benefits of dyslexia which helps to de-stigmatise the condition and improve self-confidence.
Some students do best when taught in a one-to-one weekly lesson whilst others prefer to be taught alongside another child. Tuition is intensive and not nearly as effective with large numbers so we keep classes to a maximum of two children.
We believe that regular lessons are important to maintain the momentum of learning. However, every child is different and we consider each student's needs individually.
Target Dyslexia operates a teaching centre in Dorridge (Solihull). We provide lessons both during and after school time. Head teachers of primary schools are usually willing to allow students time away from school to attend our lessons. Please contact us if you need further advice on this subject.
Target Dyslexia also has associations with local schools that enable us to deliver lessons on school premises which is often more convenient for both students and parents. We are always happy to discuss new associations with head teachers.
